So, you're looking through the Fun Stampers Journey massive catalog and you see this Popcorn Box Die. You think, "Cute, but what could I do with that?" Well, crafters, let me tell you how versatile this box is in my crafting stash! Here's idea one and I'm entering this in the City Crafter Challenge #341.
First of all, you need the Journey Platinum Machine or a Die Cutting Machine that will cut an 8 1/2 x 11 die. I love this machine because I can use the entire piece of cardstock and I don't have to cut it down. Just grab my cardstock, make my sandwich and roll it on through -- VOILA! At any rate, I used Cranberry Bliss cardstock to cut my Popcorn Box and then I used the Holiday Box Window Plates to die cut a tree into two of the panels. This is another extremely versatile die -- you have three options when cutting the tree. You can cut the tree as you'll see in my post picture; you can cut the tree with a solid background, you can cut the solid background only and then you can cut them all with a rectangle around them -- talk about versatile! And that is only using three of the 12 pieces you get in this diecut set -- a bargain to be certain. Anyway, forgive me for going on and on -- here's my picture.
I had to photo this in partial darkness since I wanted the tea light inside to show. Isn't this pretty? Very inexpensive to make as well. I used two pieces of cardstock vellum to cover the tree so that the light would shine through the vellum when the tealight is on. I wouldn't use a candle tealight, but the electric type tealight looks great. You could use this without the vellum, but I think you would have to cut the tree a bit higher so it wouldn't show through the diecut.
Because I didn't have time to embellish this box, even though this box took me about three minutes to make, I will post some additional pictures on Monday of how to bump this up, along with other ideas on how you can use this for Christmas. You can bet I'll have some ideas on how you can use this die in the upcoming year with other dies as well. I'm having too much fun just playing with this Popcorn Box Die.
Enjoy your Friday! I've got big plans to do some creating over the weekend, and I have to design my own Christmas card. Lord knows the Inkspiration Fairy had better come a'calling or I'm in trouble. I've got ideas but sometimes my hands and my brain are not always functioning together.
God Bless! Enjoy your weekend!
